GeoCollab 2023

Collaborative Planning and Designing for the Future with Geospatial Applications

Organized Workshop @ ICCSA 2023 Conference

This workshop concentrates on designing the future of places with the help of geospatial tools and applications. It combines elements of scenario planning, geodesign framework and the use of geospatial technologies. Alternative ways of engaging the residents are substantial part of the process. The geospatial tools support the analysis of the current situation in the selected area of studies. They are based on geospatial data that can be manipulated and prepared for spatial analysis. Spatial analysis enables to evaluate the study area. Scenarios for the future can be conceptualized in many different ways including driving forces, trends and predictions. Innovations play an important role. They need to be carefully selected and included in the vision for the future of our environments. This workshop encourages articles related to scenario planning, collaborative planning, geodesign, spatial analysis for geodesign including representation, process and evaluation models, ways of negotiations, and community engagement.

Study cases may come from around the globe.

The workshop proposal comes from previous organized-workshops in the framework of ICCSA Conference: "GEODESIGN IN DECISION MAKING: META PLANNING AND COLLABORATIVE DESIGN FOR SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT. (GDH 2022)"

All accepted papers will be published in the Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) Series. Accepted papers will be scheduled for oral presentation. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register, to attend the conference and to present the paper.

The conference language will be English.
