Geosciences for Energy Transition

one-year II level master course

UNIBAS MASTER COURSE

The Department of Sciences of the University of Basilicata, Italy, in cooperation with Shell Italia E&P, Eni S.p.A., Total E&P Italia S.p.A., and Confindustria Basilicata promotes a one-year, II level master course on Geosciences for Energy Transition. The course covers a wide range of subjects in the geoscience by integrating the research-based expertise of the academic world with the rapidly evolving technologies and practices employed in the modern energy industry. The goal is to prepare young and motivated students for a future employment in the energy industries and allied service companies. After graduation, the master students will be experts in the transition from fossil to sustainable energy. Specifically, the course is designed for those willing to apply advanced technologies in the field of management and integration of different energy resources, and in the analysis of the related environmental issues.

The Master course will be taught in Potenza, Italy, by a selected staff of researchers from the Basilicata University and other Italian universities, and of scientific and technical personnel of both Shell Italia E&P and Eni SpA.

Potential candidates should possess a second level degree in the 3+2 (Italian Laurea Magistrale) or 4+2 (Master level) systems in Geoscience, Geophysics, Natural Sciences, Civil and Environmental Engineering.
